Dr. Emily Maiella, ND

Emily & children

Dr. Emily Maiella is a naturopathic physician, graduate of Bastyr University in 2006.  She has been nestled away practicing in private practice in rural Montague MA, but has recently has joined practices with Dr. Bove and Dr. Sayball.  (It has actually been 2 years, but who’s counting!)

Dr. Maiella practices as a primary care physician, serving all ages and all conditions.  Though as s a mom of two young kids, Dr. Emily has a special place in her heart (and practice) for children.  She is adjunct faculty at Hampshire College, where she teaches two health education classes. This keeps her in tune to the health care needs of the young adult population.  She takes the latin roots of the word “docere,” which translates into “teacher” seriously, and incorporates health care education into her practice.    Her patients leave the practice with knowledge and a sense of empowerment.

Although Dr. Maiella enjoys the primary care emphasis at the clinic, she does specialize in a few areas.  Most notably, Lyme Disease, as well as other tick-borne illnesses.  Dr. Maiella speaks around New England on the topic of tick-born infectious diseases and has had huge success in the treatment of these diseases with an integrated medical approach.  She is also well versed on the complexities of testing and proper diagnosis of Lyme disease, which is probably one of the most challenging parts of this illness.  Check out the BNC website for some of the articles that she has written on the topic.

Dr. Maiella is currently accepting new patients, and is covered by Blue Cross and Cigna.
