Norlox supports healthy brain function by inhibiting immune activation which triggers both the sympathetic and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) stress response. NorLox contains acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid (AKBA) which is a potent inhibitor of 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX), the enzyme responsible for the production of pro-inflammatory leukotrienes. Acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid also prevents TNF-α induced expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and upregulation of adhesion molecules, both of which are involved in the movement of leukocytes to the site of immuneactivation. NorLox also provides 5-HTP to support serotonin levels which can be reduced by pro-inflammatory cytokines.
